Last weeks performance against Rotherham was horrible. A total lack of desire and application saw the Millers leave the John Smiths Stadium with a very comfortable 2-0 victory and whilst the gap to the relegation zone remained at a hefty 11 points concerns about Town’s safety have once again started to rise to the fore. Those concerns grew even stronger with the news of Ian Holloways sacking down at Millwall this week and whilst many would like to think that the gap is too large, performances such as those last saturday don’t go far in convincing the fans that 42 points is going to quite cut it in May.
So Powell needs to get a performance and more importantly a result. With Norwich coming to Town next Tuesday it really could start to get to squeaky bum time if others pick up and we continue with our recent run of poor results. Birmingham are no pushovers anymore but inconsistency is also a problem for themselves so I think a draw is quite a strong possibility.
